Alternative Energy Sources With Solar Panels

by Gary Ashby on July 1, 2011

There are more home owners than ever before using solar panels at home, renewable and alternative energy sources with solar panels, which is a huge part of the green movement today that so many are taking part in. I also learned to build my own DIY electricity system cheaply using a guide that I will share more about with you.

Supplementing the electricity in your house can save you a lot of money on your electric bill each month. Although it cost money at first to have this system installed, the monthly savings on your utility bill shows just how worth it it is. There are systems that can be installed that are large enough to supply all your electric so you end up having no electricity bill every single month.

Now more affordable than in the past and since there are federal and local incentive programs it is even more cost effective. California and Arizona and Florida have the most potential in rebates for residents but now others are also starting to do this as well.

This system is made of thin films that turn photons which is light energy from the sunlight into DC electricity in daylight hours, then the inverter turns the DC current into AC electricity, from there it is used by the items in your home that use electricity. Any power that’s not used is sent to the electric company for them to use, then they give you credit on your utility bill.

Using this alternative energy source system in your home is more popular today and growing even more popular by the day. There are several types available, the older kind that sits on the roof and raised up and noticeable to everyone. Or the newer kind that is still on the roof but lays flat and unnoticeable which to many look better for the home and work just as well if not better than the older ones.

For reasons of finances there is available to you if you still want to use this system but can’t afford to start out on a larger scale, there’s a compact system, it’s the same as the one that goes on the roof but just smaller and is usually placed on the side of your house instead. They work great and are able to use a good amount of the sunlight. This compact system will supplement the electric that you use in your home.

With electric rates going up constantly people are looking for alternative energy sources with solar panels and this type of power is an efficient and affordable alternative today. Whether it is for economic reasons or environmental reasons many are finding that this is just one of the answers. I have personally managed to build my own home DIY electricity system simply following a DIY guide online and would highly recommend it.
