You should replace …
You should replace that soldering iron tip. Its way too oxidized. At least sand it down. Do you think a heat gun would work?

Look around as you …
Look around as you shop for cells; sometimes you can get them pre-tabbed. More expensive this way, but saves tons of time.

LOL, Dude stop …
LOL, Dude stop grabbing the soldering iron by the hot part, use the handel. I did like your presentation though. This is something I can do and am likely to order a bunch of them and rig them on my roof. Mounting so they can be accessed without walking on them will be another feat; but doable.

Eh the Illuminati is run by reptilian kin known as jinn, naga, demons, dragons, vampires, bluebloods, Al Pike, Al Gore, Rothschilds etc who rule the core of Freemasonry that do vile sex and torture rituals. They’ll probably start WW3, go to internet 2, force-vaccinate many in Fall and stage an alien invasion to get a fascist world government with you microchipped, so resist! Support Stewart Swerdlow, FreemanTV, Dr. Deagle, Alex Jones and Project Camelot!

When I worked in …
When I worked in the factory, we made a cell phone charger which had 2 pads, on which was mounted a spring with a knuckle that when embled into a housing was visible and was the contact for the phone. When mounting it you had to be careful to ensure the solder from the pads also flowed on to the top of the spring. If the spring was simply sitting on top of the solder the springs would fall off. You want your solder to melt and flow over the top of the wire you are mounting.

to clean the flux …
to clean the flux off use Alcohol and a soft brush or cloth

whiskylover1973 July 4, 2009 at 6:36 pm

On a note of …
On a note of caution, when you add flux be sparing with it and make sure you clean it off carefully when you have a nice solder joint (i.e. smooth and shinny with no blow holes). Any flux remaining on the metal will corrode the solder joint. (because flux eats the surface of the metal – this is how it removes the oxidized surface)

I think I’ll give …
I think I’ll give it a go, I worked in Electronics for 7 years so the Soldering will be no problem at all. I have to tell you btw that you added flux to the pads on the back and called it “wetting”, it’s not.. if you had then reflowed the solder with your iron.. you would have wetted it. You need a hotter Iron, the solder was not flowing well at all.
Just to clarify, flux removed oxygen build up from the surface of the metal you wish to solder, some solder comes with a core of flux in the middle
